Between July and September 2024, I created an animated advertisement for Octobox, including a longer YouTube version and a shorter vertical edit for platforms like YouTube Shorts and TikTok.
After the first meeting with the Octobox team, I suggested creating a 2D animated video instead of a 3D one, since it fit the scope and budget of the project better. Based on their input, I wrote a first script, developed the storyboard, and designed the characters and visual assets. Once the direction was approved, I built the final illustrations in Illustrator and brought them into After Effects, where I rigged the character assets as puppets and animated the full video.
One of the main challenges was creating an ad that could work both as a longer explanatory video and in a short-form social media context. For that, I made a separate edit of the animation that was shorter, more direct, and adapted to a vertical screen format.
This project was a good opportunity for me to handle a full production from start to finish: from client communication and concept development to animation, sound editing, and final delivery. I also edited the audio in Audition and worked with a hired voice-over artist for the narration. The vertical version was later adapted in Premiere Pro.
Overall, this was a very smooth and positive client project, and I really enjoyed working with the Octobox team.
